Hillary's Marxist Ways

Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton recently announced that if she were President that she would take oil company profits away from oil companies and would use them to set up alternative energy research. Hearing this and the cheers that followed sent chills down my back. When did it become a bad thing to have profits for a corporation? The free-market has proven to be a much more reliable source of innovation than government. Liberals are quick to vilify the evil profit hording oil companies, yet they do not bring up how many ordinary citizens own stock in  these companies and therefore profit. Hillary has revealed more of her socialist tendencies that we are sure to see more of as she elaborates on Hillarycare.

Hugh Hewitt's interview with Boehner

After listening to Mr. Hewitt's interview with Minority Leader Boehner, I am convinced that the Republicans need new leadership more than ever. The Republicans need to stop acting like Democrats-lite, liberalism did not win at the polls last election. Boehner seemed to be side stepping and acted as if he had already made his mind up, no matter what the base feels. I'm sure that Mr Boehner is a nice man, however we need leadership that is going to be effective and that will listen to the base. The absence of Tom Delay and his ability to keep the party united is becoming very apparent. I think it is unfortunate for the party that Mike Pence was not elected Minority Leader, instead were getting the same old from the group that lost our majority. If Republicans are going to have a prayer in 2008, I'm afraid that we are going to have to get new leadership and soon.

Political Power over National Interests

The Democrats have alligned themselves on the side of American defeat in the war on terror. We continue to hear them call this, "the President's war" or "his mess". When did such issues of national security become the sole problems of a President that they claim is no longer relevant? They are looking at a possible defeat of America in Iraq as a political winner for them at home in '08. They have put their politcal power above the national interests of the country for which they serve. Not only is this bad for the Democrat Party (which I'm losing no sleep over), but the nation as a whole. Whenever a political party alligns itself with this country's defeat, I believe no good can come out of it. The Democrats know that if President Bush's new strategy turns the tide in Iraq, their party will be devastated, their screechings of defeatism would be revealed for the sham they are, and any aspirations of maintaining or enlarging their majority would be shot. It is due to this fact that the Democrats are now politically invested in America's defeat.

Kerry's comments

I was saddened to hear of the announcement that John Kerry will not be running for President in the 2008. I believe that, once again, he would have been a wonderful nominee. He always seems to be putting his foot in his rather large mouth. Before the election there were of course his degrading statements to our troops, and once again he has come through. Speaking at the economic forum in Switzerland, Mr Kerry commented that the United States was an "international pariah". I find this statement not only to be shameful, but rather funny considering John Kerry's ever diminishing clout in the party (remember the photos of John being hid behind a statue rather than walking with the Democratic congressional leadership?). This is another example of liberal's self loathing view of America, playing to elites in Europe that hold this same assertion. If John Kerry had any sense he would hold the likes of Iran and Syria as international pariah, not the United States.

Hagel's Antics

I urge everyone not to send any money to the RNC for 2008 as long as they continue to support the likes of Senator Chuck Hagel and Lincoln Chafee. Hagel's recent comments and push for a cloture vote in the Senate only solidify my belief on the matter. Not only would this vote be a slap in the face to President Bush, but it would also be detrimental to our troops. The Democrats continue to claim that this is a false assertion, even though General Petraeus and Secretary Gates have both stated otherwise. I was sickened to watch Mr Hagel yell at other Republicans for not having any courage. I believe the Sen. Luger had it right when he commented back that it does not take courage to pass a toothless non-binding resolution. We need Republicans in office that are going to be strong and stand for the right thing, not the easiet or most popular. I urge all Republicans to sign the petition and let the RNC know that our money will no longer support these RINO Senators. If Sen. Hagel believes his recent stance is going to further any of his Presidential ambitions, he is greatly mistaken.
